Travel Time is Thinking Time. Here’s what I’m Thinking.

Technically, I haven’t truly hit the road yet as I write this. I’m still packing. Interesting fact – in the process of packing, I counted the number of sports coats/blazers I have. Guess within 2 and you can get some Beeler.Tech swag. Anyhoo, what I was saying is that when I travel, I turn off my devices and I ponder. These are some of those thoughts…
 
  • Community over EVERYTHING. The OG get-together in honor of Ben Reid was magical. Staying connected is everything. It requires work, but it’s the best work you can have.
  • Desperate media is doomed media. The ad experience is the user experience and if you don’t like going to your own site, your users certainly do not. 
  • Panels tend to mask the underlying division between the companies on the stage. It’s all too nice. The trade headlines can do the opposite as division sells. Conversations over drinks exclude others, but town halls often don’t lead to action. As you can tell, I’m working on something. Stay tuned.
  • Lynne mentioned the “Ops is Sexy” concept at Ops this week and my thinking is “not-sexy is the new sexy.” Substance over flash should win out. That, or I’m just feeling my age.

Tuesday
Rob will be moderating a panel in Cannes: Creating a Safer Internet and World: Sustainability & SPO at The Haven by Human, June 20 at 3 p.m. The panel includes Rise, Scope3, Butler/Till, Verve Group, and Human Security. 

6 to 9, we'll be at the DanAds Villa with DanAds, Prebid, and MediaMint having a casual happy hour. Sold out, but here are the deets.

Wednesday
We’ve teamed up with DanAds, Prebid, and MediaMint to host a series of dynamic conversations at the DanAds Villa– base camp for all things publisher content and networking.  

Here’s what’s planned for you:
  • Beeler.Tech session at 10:30 a.m.: Attention vs Action. Is DEI Actually Evolving? This insightful discussion will examine global initiatives and actions around DEI and its impacts to our industry. Register here!

  • Prebid at 5:30 p.m.: Programmatic In Emerging Channels

Followed by more happy houring 6 to 9. Thursday? More happy houring. Can I go home now?
