The art of listening, speaking, and asking questions

As preparation continues for Navigator on May 3, I’m enjoying catching up with our speakers and talking about the format of the various sessions at the event. In many sessions, there won’t be a moderator – instead two people on stage asking each other questions around a particular topic. No moderator? Rob, did you just chatGPT yourself out of a job? Hopefully not. 

The reason I wanted to try this approach is because at all levels we need to always practice the art of listening, speaking, and asking questions. When you meet someone else in the industry, there won’t be a moderator there to help guide the conversation along. While you listen to the content, listen to how it’s delivered, and then engage in the conversation. This is how leaders – true navigators – are born.

Added to the agenda: The Ad Tech Mosh Pit:  SSPs are becoming DSPs and DSPs are looking more like SSPs. The Lumascape is starting to look like a free-for-all.

The 150th Virtual Happy Hour was a success! We came together, mostly our regulars, but some new friends joined us, and some old friends who don’t typically join dialed in. Rose dialed in from the beach, where she was celebrating her birthday. Trevor dialed in from a cruise ship about to push off and headed for the Caribbean. Melissa and Jeff dialed in from a restaurant en route to Chicago. Jared figured out how to do this background for the group. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
